Esther M. Glick

February 20, 1936 - April 18, 2020

Esther M. Glick, 84, of 66 Spruce Pine Lane, Belleville, passed away at 10:35 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Valley View Haven.

Born Feb. 20, 1936 in Belleville, she was a daughter of the late Nelson D. and Annie B. (Byler) Glick. She is survived by a sister, Orpha J. Glick of Belleville and a brother, Ivan J. Glick & wife Luella of Belleville.

Esther was a graduate of Belleville Mennonite School and Rockingham Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Harrisonburg, VA. During her nursing career, she worked in mental health in PA and MD, ambulatory care in Petoskey, Mich., and long-term care in Harrisonburg, VA. She retired from nursing in 2001 and returned to live in Belleville.

She was a member of Locust Grove Mennonite Church. She was a volunteer at Big Valley Thrift & Gift for many years and was known as the ‘book lady’ for her work with book donations. Esther enjoyed reading, scrap booking, and crafts. She also loved being outside and gardening. She was a letter writer and had many work place friends in several states that she wrote to.

In compliance with the COVID 19 pandemic guidelines, there will be no public viewing or services. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Locust Grove Cemetery with Pastors Max Zook & Ivan Yoder officiating.

Arrangements are under the care of Henderson Funeral Home, 3813 West Main St., Belleville.
