Gary L. Armstrong, 82, of 810 Freedom Avenue, Burnham passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023.


He was born on June 10, 1941 in Milroy to the late Eugene and Irene (Snook) Armstrong. In November, 1959 he married the late Bonnie (Powell) Armstrong, who preceded him in death on February 9, 2003.

He is survived by children, Lori D. Page of Reedsville, Richard S. Armstrong and companion Amber Elsesser of Pleasant Acres, Lewistown, Lisa L. Johnson and husband Matthew of Belleville, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; brothers Ronald Armstrong and wife Sharon of Reedsville and Dennis Armstrong and wife Denna of Reedsville.

Gary graduated in 1959 from Kishacoquillas High School. His first job was with Sunshine Biscuits as a salesman where he worked for 10 years. He then became employed as a Snyder’s Pretzel Salesman, where he stayed until his retirement in 2003.

Gary was an avid Steeler’s fan. He was a former member of the Moose and the Lost Creek Golf Course. He enjoyed golfing and he and his father even won the father/son tournament at Lost Creek one year. He also enjoyed bowling, and his bowling team went to the states in 1995. Woodworking & fishing were also favorite past times that he had.


Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
