James W. “Jim” Hagans, 68, of Reedsville, passed away peacefully following a battle with cancer Sunday, May 3, 2020, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital, with his wife Kathy and daughters by his side.
Born May 14, 1951, in Albany, Georgia, he was a son of the late Walter Hagans and Geraldine Hagans, who survives and resides in Belleville.
He is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Kathy (Grove) Hagans of almost 49 years of marriage, two daughters, Tabetha Picker and husband, Jonathan, of Chesterbrook, and Jamie Mulhorn and husband, Eric, of Jonestown and a grandson, Tiran Picker.
His brother, Timothy Hagans and wife, Kathi, of Spruce Creek, and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Hagans was a 1969 graduate of Huntingdon Area High School and a 1971 graduate of Williamsport Area Community College.
He was employed by American Viscose Corp. and retired from Case-New Holland after 36 years of service.
He loved to go camping with his wife, taking several trips across the United States. He also enjoyed camping with his family and friends. He was an avid bowler, participating in the Pennsylvania State Bowling Association for over 30 years. He graciously donated over 14 gallons of blood, providing the “gift of life” to others.
Family and friends recall Mr. Hagans will miss his 6-year-old grandson, Tiran, and the many times they drove their tractors around the yard, taking turns chasing each other. He will also miss his best friends, Ed and Cindy, Rick and Jane, Dick and Larue and his bowling buddies.
Due to social distancing restrictions, a private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
