Albert M. Carson, 91, of Belleville, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.
He was born on August 23, 1933 in Belleville to the late Roy M. and Stella K. (Reigle) Carson. On March 23, 1957, he married Patsy (Eddinger) Carson, who resides in Belleville.
Surviving are daughters: Marcell Doverspike and husband Ronald of Bedford, PA, Lori Folk and husband Donald of Lakeland, FL, and Luann Pastore and husband George of Belleville; 8 grandchildren: Kyle Doverspike and wife Macy, Joshua Doverspike and wife Sandry, Andrew Folk and wife Michele, Amanda Modrall and husband Robert, Derek Wiser and wife Kristen, Jennifer Wills and husband Patrick, Matthew Baumgardner and Justin Baumgardner; 6 great-grandchildren: Zachary and Carter Folk, Brooklyn and Carson Wiser, and Declan and Owen Wills.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Jean Stitzer and husband Dean.
He graduated in 1953 from Menno-Union Joint High School in Belleville. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and continued to serve in the Army Reserves for the following two years. He was a machinist at Ford New Holland in Belleville, where he retired in 1991 after 38 years.
He was a member of the VFW Stroup-Alexander Post 5935 in Belleville, where he served as an honor guard for several years, member and past president of the Belleville Fire Company, life-time member of the Lewistown Moose Lodge 143, and a member of the St John’s Lutheran Church, Belleville.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at camp, gardening and attending his children and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. He loved his pet dogs and cats over the years. Earlier in life he was a member of the New Holland Bowling team.
His family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff and administration at Brookline Manor for the excellent care he received.
A viewing will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 from 6 – 8 p.m. and from 1 – 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home, 3813 West Main Street, Belleville, with Rev. Ronald Doverspike officiating. Burial will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
