Arthur W. Kauffman

June 29, 1924 - November 13, 2021





Arthur W. Kauffman, 97, of Valley View Haven, Belleville, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, at the haven.


Born June 29, 1924, in Juniata County, he was a son of the late Arthur W. Kauffman and Mary (Gisewhite) Kauffman Bennett.

On April 27, 1946, he married Lois Jane (Kenawell) Kauffman. She preceded him in death on Dec. 27, 1997.

Surviving is his daughter, Nancy L. Abt and husband Alan of Harrisburg.

Art was the last of his immediate family and along with his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Goldie Kauffman, Mildred Stuter, Helen Johns, Mary Reed, Penrose Kauffman, Elwood Kauffman, George Kauffman and Theodore ‘Mike’ Kauffman. He served during WWII in the Marine Corps and Air Force Reserves. He was an industrial engineer, employed at New Holland from 1950-1983.

Art was a member of the West Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church, a member of the VFW Post No. 5935, Belleville, and a member of the American Legion, Post 107, Mount Union. He loved to golf and enjoyed doing wood working projects as well. He was very fond of his cats Helga and Henry.

His funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, at West Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church with Vaughn Kanagy officiating. Burial will take place at Machpelah Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the church.
