Barbara Jane Willard


Barbara Jane Willard, of Gloucester, VA passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord on 2/16/23 in Belleville,

PA and is now reunited with her parents Robert S. and Jane Barclift (formally of Colonial Beach, VA) and daughter Marsha Jayne Craun (formally of Harpers Ferry, WV).


Barbara is survived by William R. Barclift (brother) of Colonial Beach, VA, Dana (sister) and husband Richard Newsome of Williamsburg, VA, John Craun (son-in-law), Jesse Alan Mills (Grandson) and Stacia Spanos (Granddaughter) and great-grandchildren of Charles Town, WV and many nieces and nephews.


Barbara’s greatest joy in life came from the company of her grandchildren and beloved daughter. Barbara also enjoyed traveling, entertaining, football games, caring for her dogs, walking along the beach collecting shells, and was an accomplished Master Gardner and church volunteer.


She was a Patriot and completed a 30 year career serving the federal government. Throughout her lifetime Barbara resided in Virginia & West Virginia. She was raised in Colonial Beach, VA, worked in northern VA and retired to Charles Town, WV and later Gloucester, VA.


Special thanks to all her caregivers and friends over the years, especially the staff of Valley View Retirement Community of Belleville, PA for ensuring a superb quality of life during her final years.


Barbara died a Christian woman, church member, and shall be buried at Bellamy United Methodist Church. All family and friends are welcome to attend her services on 02/25/23 at the Andrews Funeral Home in Gloucester, VA. Visitation 10am, Service 11am, burial immediately following.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bellamy United Methodist Church or the Gloucester/Mathews Humane Society, both in Gloucester, VA.
