September 1, 1931 - July 30, 2022
Bernice A. Becker, 90, of 219A Valley View Terrace, Belleville, passed away at 1:05 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born on Sept. 1, 1931, in Galva, Kan., a daughter of the late Charley A. and Elvina (Unruh) Becker. On June 6, 1954, she married Wayne E. Becker, who resides at the Terrace. Also surviving are her children, Ray Becker and wife Joann of Jamesport, Mo., and Regina F. Peachey and husband Wilmer of Belleville; 10 grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren; and her siblings, Erlene Koehn and husband Ardell of Burton, Kan., and Marlo Becker and wife Wilda of Halstead, Kan., as well as a sister-in-law Shirley Becker of Halstead.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by a twin sister, Bertha, sisters Myrtle Koehn and Vera Koehn and a brother, Norman Becker.
She was primarily a homemaker, but in her earlier years, she was employed at Moundridge Manor Nursing Home as a housekeeper for approximately 16 years. Following their retirement, she and her husband moved to Jamesport, Mo., for 14 years, then in September 2016 they moved to Belleville, where they lived ever since.
She and Wayne did everything together in their later years, enjoying working in the yard, eating out and their Saturday trips to town. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022, at Rock Haven Church of God In Christ Mennonite, Belleville, with Amos Peachey and Stanton Schmidt officiating. Burial will take place in Rock Haven Cemetery following the service. Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rock Haven Church.
