Carol R. Yoder

April 27, 1940 - January 1, 2023

Carol R. Yoder, 82, of Valley View Haven, Belleville, passed away at 3:10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023 at the Haven.

She was born on April 27, 1940, in Lewistown, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Warner) Close.

Carol is survived by: her children, Mark A. Yoder and wife Judy of Yeagertown; Bonnie J. King and husband Wade of Reedsville; four grandchildren, Michael Munson, Mallory Munson, Lacy Fisher and husband Harley, and Draven King and wife Jessica; eight great-grandchildren, Cloe, Kayley, Hunter, Caiden, Carter, Bennett, Everett and Conner, as well as a special cousin that she was very close to, Sandra Fultz.

She was the last of her immediate family and was preceded in death by her brother, Charles W. Close. Carol was a 1958 graduate of Kishacoquillas High School. She went to work at Kish High School following her graduation, as a secretary to the principal. She later became employed at Standard Steel and lastly, she was a secretary at New Holland until her retirement in 1995.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Belleville and a member of the TGIR Club. Her high school graduating class gathered several times a year and she took an active part in that. She enjoyed reading, watching Penn State sports and Steelers football.

Her graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023 at Church Hill Cemetery with Pastor Ela Robertson officiating.
