Charles R. ‘Bud’ Powell, 77, of 2496 Cordelia Road, Fairfield, CA, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.
Born Aug. 5, 1943, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Arthur W. and Charlotte L. (Young) Powell.
He is survived by a son, Jon Powell also of Fairfield, and a sister, Connie Loudenslager & husband Stephen, of Mifflin. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Armstrong and by Fern Russler. Fern helped to raise Bud & his siblings after their father died at a young age.
He served in the United States Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, he went to work for United Airlines as a mechanic. He worked there for 30 years until his retirement in 2000. Bud enjoyed riding his Harley, working on his house and collecting cars.
His graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2021, at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Belleville with Pastor Ela Robertson officiating.
