Cody M. Bender, 17, of Allensville, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2022, at UPMC, Altoona.
He was born May 18, 2005, in Huntingdon, a son of Michael J. Bender of Allensville and Reba J. (Metzler) Randolph and her husband Joshua of Belleville.
Along with his parents, he is also survived by: his siblings, Abigail J. Bender of Belleville, Zachary J. Bender of Allensville, Isaac D. Bender of Belleville, and Caitlyn R. Bender of Belleville, his maternal grandparents, James and Ruth Metzler, paternal grandmother, Linda Brechbiel, as well as a number of special aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Tom Bender.
Cody attended Huntingdon Area High School and was a member of the Class of 2023. He also attended the Huntingdon County Career and Technology Center, where he was studying Public Health and Safety. He was employed with Zook’s Masonry for the summer, and loved hunting, fishing, racing, and spending time with his friends and family.
A celebration of his life will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, at Locust Grove Mennonite Church, 3358 W. Main St., Belleville. His family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service at Locust Grove Church on Sunday.
