Connie R. Brigante, 97, of 842 Crestview Drive, Belleville, and formerly of Morristown, N.J., passed away at 2:20 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2022, at Valley View Haven Rehab.
She was born Jan. 12, 1925, in Madison, N.J., a daughter of the late Philip Sodano and Francis (Ricci) Sodano. On March 31, 1951, she married Alfonso Brigante who passed away in 1993.
Connie is survived by her daughters, Marie Brigante and Judy Waddell and husband John, all of Belleville; three grandsons, Matthew Waddell, Daniel Waddell and wife Amanda, and Lucas Waddell, as well as three great-grandsons, Nathan, Jonah and Jacob Waddell and a number of special nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family and was preceded in death by three brothers, Sal, Joe, and Phil and six sisters, Nancy, Rose, Ann, Jessie, Carmella, and Julia.
She graduated from Madison High School in Madison, N.J. Following high school, she worked in a supervisory position at Mepco Electra Inc.
Connie was a member of St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church in Morristown, N.J. She enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening, traveling, doing crafts, painting and puzzles, and most of all, spending time with her family.
Her funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2022, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Convent Station, N.J. Her family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church.
Burial will take place following the Mass at Holy Rood Cemetery in Morristown, N.J.
