Daniel P. Kanagy

August 27, 1932 - November 20, 2020

Daniel P. Kanagy, 88, of Belleville, passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2020 at his home.

Born Aug. 27, 1932 in Belleville, he was a son of the late Levi P. and Lydia S. (Peachey) Kanagy. He was the husband of the late Rebecca K. (Beiler) Kanagy.

He is survived by a son, David B. Kanagy & wife Dorothy of Belleville; a son-in-law, Jonas A. Zook and wife Bertha of Somerset; son, Elmer L. Kanagy and wife Sarah of Rebersburg; daughter, Mrs. Abie (Malinda) Peight of Belleville; son Aaron J. Kanagy and wife Anna Mary of Sprakers, N.Y.; son, Benjamin E. Kanagy and wife Sylvia of Rebersburg; his siblings, Nancy Swarey and husband Urie; Mattie Yoder and her late husband Noah; Lizzie Bender & her late husband Korie; 45 grandchildren and 99 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lydia Zook, three grandchildren, and five siblings, Jacob, Levi, Reuben, Lydia and Susie and two great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

His viewing will be held Saturday afternoon and evening, Nov. 21, 2020 at the Abie Peight residence, 4057 East Back Mountain Road, Belleville, PA. His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020 also at the Abie Peight residence with home ministers officiating. Burial will take place at Locust Grove Cemetery, Belleville.
