Donna S. Deamer, 87, of Huntingdon, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Valley View Haven Nursing Home in Belleville.
She was born on March 22, 1937 in Alexandria, PA, to the late Lewis S. and Verna C. (David) Schirm. On February 14, 1983, she married Jay W. Deamer, who preceded her in death on October 28, 2017.
Surviving is a niece, Pamela Schirm; step-children, Linda Fisher and husband Michael, Barry Deamer and wife Bonnie; and a number of step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Schirm, a step-brother, David Hesser, and a step-daughter, Teri Smith. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Donna was a 1955 graduate of Juniata Valley High School. She worked for McCrory Warehouse, Penn State University and in the accounting department for J.R. Wald Company until her retirement in 1997. She was a member of the Mill Creek United Methodist Church, a past Matron in the Mount Union chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and also a past Matron of the Juniata Valley Court Order of the Amaranth. She was a 50+ year member of both organizations. She was a member of card club and enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and doing crossword puzzles.
A visitation will be held at the Henderson Funeral Home, 3813 West Main Street, Belleville, from 3 – 4 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024. Her memorial service will follow the visitation at 4 p.m. the same day with Noah S. Yutzy officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Alexandria Presbyterian Cemetery.
