Doris P. Stumpff, 88, of 45 Jenkin Street, Belleville, passed away at 8:52 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2022 at her daughter Jan’s home in Allensville.
She was born Nov. 4, 1933 in Vira, a daughter of the late Carl F. and Sadie E. (Kuhns) Stuck. On January 12, 1951, she married Doyle E. Stumpff. He preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 2013.
She is survived by: her children, Arlene Shirk & husband Robert of Hesston; Pamela Hunter & husband Richard of Burnham; Edward Stumpff & wife Lori Ellen of Belleville; Janette Bulick & husband John of Allensville, a son-in-law, Gregory Lingle of Mifflintown, five grandchildren, Michelle R. Groce, Richard A. Hunter, Brandon L. Fohringer, Molly C. Stumpff, and Clayton E. Stumpff; and seven great-grandchildren, Christopher L. Groce, Katrina Groce, Autumn Groce, Parker Groce, and Bentley, Landon and Rylee Fohringer, as well as a sister, Mary P. Parker of Charlotte, NC.
Doris was preceded in death by: her daughter, Annette L. Lingle on March 2, 2022, an infant son in 1959, three brothers, Raymond Stuck, Leroy Stuck, and James Stuck as well as a son-in-law, Wayne ‘Richie’ Kratzer in 2012.
She will be remembered by her family as a hard-working homemaker. She also served as a self-employed notary public for 28 years, and she worked in the kitchen at the Lewistown Hospital for two years and at Arrow Shirt Factory for two years.
She was Methodist by faith and was instrumental in maintaining the antique car collecting hobby of her husband.
Her viewing will be held from 11 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Henderson Funeral Home, Belleville. Her funeral service will begin at Noon at the funeral home with Pastor Steven D. Small, Jr. officiating. Burial will take place following the service at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Belleville.
