Edith A. Kanagy, 79, of Menno Haven Nursing Home, Chambersburg, passed away at 9:10 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2023.
She was born March 1, 1943, in Goshen, Indiana, a daughter of the late Irven and Mary Esther (Hartzler) Good. On September 4, 1965, she married Jonathan Kanagy, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Lori Blosser, Regina Henry, Kevin Kanagy, and Twila Dawe; grandchildren, Emily, Jonathan, and Faith Blosser, Tyler and Gwynn Henry, Hannah, Madison, and Eliana Kanagy, and Jonathan and Abigail Dawe; a great grandson, Oliver Blosser; siblings, Wilbur Good and Helen Good. She was preceded in death by a brother, Laverne Good, and a sister, Thelma Good.
Edith was artistically gifted. She sewed many of her children’s clothes, and enjoyed painting, cross stitch, cake decorating, and flower arranging. Edith was a member of Marion Mennonite Church in Chambersburg. She loved God with all her heart and spent a great deal of time reading books about God and her faith.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Menno Haven Benevolent Fund, 2075 Scotland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
