Emma J. Stevens

Emma J. Stevens, 88, of 226 Shawnee Drive, Belleville, passed away at 2:36 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2021 at her home.


Born July 24, 1933 in Bratton Township, she was a daughter of the late Jay Milton and Frances (Renninger) Kenepp. On April 11, 1964, she married Edwin M. Stevens. He passed away on Dec. 6, 2005.

Surviving are: her son, Timothy K. Kenepp and wife Michelle of Belleville; five grandchildren, Clinton Kenepp of Saltillo; Kyle Kenepp and wife Tori of RD Lewistown; Kevin Kenepp, Keith Kenepp, and Khloe Kenepp, all of Belleville, a great-granddaughter, Brinley Kenepp; two sisters, Miriam Grace Williamson of Belleville and Mary Ruth Telfer and husband Earl of Mifflin; and a brother, Frank Leon Hartley of Strodes Mills.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carmen Joy Stevens, and three brothers, Walter Paul Kenepp, Jesse Grant Kenepp, and Charles William Kenepp.

Emma was primarily a homemaker. In previous years she worked at Tops Diner as a cook and at Stinson’s Store in Three Springs. She was a member of the Big Valley Brethren in Christ Church in Belleville. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her grandchildren, and having picnics with her family. She was very devoted to her family.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2021 at Henderson Funeral Home, Belleville with Pastor Steve Munger officiating. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Three Springs. Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
