Gary Paul Anderson

October 19, 1948 - December 5, 2020




Gary Paul Anderson, 72, of Belleville, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020, at UPMC Altoona due to COPD complicated by COVID.


Born Oct. 19, 1948, in Dubois, he was a son of Evelyn (Renwick) Anderson Young who resides in Lititz and the late Paul Keith Anderson.

Along with his mother, he is survived by his wife Mona of Belleville, a son, Todd S. Anderson and wife Jennifer, and granddaughter Alexis all of Lewisberry, a sister, Pamela Wilson and husband Robert of Lititz, a stepbrother, Thomas Young and wife Glenna of Belleville, and stepsisters, Sharon George and husband Everett and Deborah Stayton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Keith Anderson, in 1961, his stepfather, Richard T. Young, in 2015, and his sister, Dee Swyers, in 2015.

Gary was a 1966 graduate of Kish Valley High School. He then served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1968-69.

He held various jobs throughout his life. He was a partner in A & H Contracting in York, real estate sales for Treasure Lake, Dubois, co-owner of Happy Valley Cleaning in State College, in package sales for APM and currently he was the owner of Knepp Tooling.

Gary was a former member of the Belleville Lions Club and a lifetime member of the Harley Owners Group, VFW Post No. 5935, Belleville, the American Legion and Camp Belle Green. He was an avid golfer. His only hole-in-one came on Nov. 7, 1988, on No. 10 at Lewistown Country Club. He was past champion and senior champion at American Legion Country Club in Mount Union. He also enjoyed hunting.

Due to COVID, there will be no viewing or services at this time. A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.
