Ivan J. Glick, 85, of Belleville, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Valley View Haven Nursing Home, Belleville. Born May 16, 1939, in Belleville, he was the son of the late Nelson and Annie (Byler) Glick.
He is survived by his wife Luella S. (Hostetler) Glick, a sister, Orpha J. Glick; two sisters-in-law: Pauline Glick and Helen Glick, both of Belleville; and 8 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by siblings: J. Elrose Glick, Dwight A. Glick and Esther M. Glick.
He was employed by Lewistown Hospital for 40 years as a Radiographer in the Imaging Department, with the last 10 years at a satellite location in Mifflintown.
He was a life-long member of the Locust Grove Mennonite Church, having served as trustee, elder, Sunday school teacher and treasurer for many years.
He was a founding member of the Board of the Big Valley Area Medical Center. He served on the Valley View Retirement Community Board of Directors for many years, serving as treasurer, chairman and Executive committees. He served 9 years on the Board of Conservative Amish Mennonite Mutual Aid Association of Middleburg, IN, as a representative for health & property mutual aid services until his retirement. He also served on the Board of the Mifflin County Mennonite Historical Society and the local MCC Big Valley Thrift and Gift Shop.
In addition, he had avocations in agricultural interests, namely, farming, cage layer poultry operation and animal husbandry. He also served on various local agency committees.
He was founder and operator of East Gate Elevator Company and the Gateway Self Storage facility in Reedsville.
He was an avid hunter and member of the McKauncky Hunting Club. He enjoyed traveling and hiking the trails of Central PA.
A viewing will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at the Locust Grove Mennonite Church, 3358 West Main Street, Belleville. There will be a memorial service on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the church, with Ivan Yoder, Neil Renno and Bob Plank officiating. Burial will be at the Locust Grove Cemetery at 9:30 a.m., prior to the memorial service.
