Jacob E. Peachey, Sr.

April 15, 1940 - February 17, 2025

Jacob E. Peachey, Sr, 84, of Belleville, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at home.

He was born on April 15, 1940, in Allensville, to the late Emanuel and Mattie (Yoder) Peachey.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther (Byler) Peachey on April 26, 2024.

Surviving are children: Sylvanus Peachey and wife Ida of Belleville, Jacob E. Peachey, Jr. and wife Martha of Belleville, Emanual Peachey and wife Rachel of Belleville, Melvin Peachey and wife Marianne of Ickesburg, John Peachey and wife Esther of Newport, PA; son-in-law Jonathan Zook and wife Gertie of Belleville; 23 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren; sisters: Lydia Peachey of Belleville and Annie Detweiler and husband Sam of Rockville IN.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Swarey; a brother, Daniel Peachey; and a daughter Rhoda Zook.

He was a carpenter by trade.

He was a member of Old Order Amish Church.

A viewing will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the Ephraim Peachey residence, 55 Sunset Drive, Belleville.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at the same location, officiated by the home ministers.  Burial will be held at the Locust Grove Cemetery, Belleville.
