James L. Yetter

January 11, 1941 - August 3, 2020

James L. Yetter, 79, of 198 Second Street, Belleville, passed away at 9:46 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, 2020, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.


Born Jan. 11, 1941, he Lewistown, he was a son of the late Lewis M. and Edith R. (Rothrock) Yetter.

On Nov. 23, 1973, in married Eileen J. (Walsh) Yetter, she survives at their home. He is also survived by a brother, Jeffrey Yetter, of Lewistown; a nephew, Bryce M. Yetter, of Huntingdon; and a niece, Cassandra L. Yetter, of Lancaster.

Jim retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 for the United States Coast Guard. He served from Dec. 1965 to Oct. 1991.

He was a member of the Chief Warrant Officers Assoc. for over 20 years, a member of the Lewistown Loyal Order of the Moose and the American Legion Post #0090. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and humor. He was dearly loved and a friend to many.

His funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug.6, 2020, at Henderson Funeral Home, Belleville with Pastor Steve Swigart officiating.

His family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon and again from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, memorials may be made to: Mifflin County Middle School Drama Club, 212 Green Avenue, Lewistown, PA 17044.

Arrangements are under the care of Henderson Funeral Home, 3813 West Main St., Belleville, PA 17004.
