Jane E. Treaster

Jane E. Treaster, 91, of Celebration Villa, 55 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville, PA, passed away at 5:33 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Greenwood Village, Lewistown.


She was born on August 16, 1931 in Barrville, Mifflin County to the late Irvin R. Frankhouser, Sr. and Wilda N. (Lepley) Frankhouser.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Paul D. Treaster, Sr., son Michael S. Treaster and son-in-law Dan Stence, two brothers-in-law Donald Goddard and James Kauffman and a sister, Bernice Seitz.

Surviving are her children: Terry L. Stence of Milroy, Paul D. Treaster, Jr. of Mechanic Street in Belleville; grandchildren Christopher Yohn, Jason Treaster and Joseph Treaster, 2 step-grandchildren Jennifer Conaway and Kristan McClure, four great-grandchildren Serena and Caine Treaster and Aviana and Vivian Treaster; two step great-granchildren: Emily Conaway and Danica McClure. Brothers and sisters Sara Goddard, Irvin R. Frankhouser, Jr. and wife Joann, Susan Kauffman, John Frankhouser and wife Kathleen.

Jane graduated with honors as valedictorian in 1949 from Reedsville High School. She worked at R.S. Vogt Garment Factory, Arrow Shirt Factory, Weis Markets in the bakery and several summers she worked at Hartman Center. She loved playing cards, board games and bingo.

She attended Barrville Mennonite Church, the Milroy Senior Center, and was a member of the Belleville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023 at the Barrville Mennonite Church with Pastor Carl Geissinger officiating. Burial will take place at Barrville Mennonite Cemetery following the service. Her family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Friday.
