John Edward Kipp

March 27, 1941 - March 24, 2023



John Edward Kipp, 81, of 247 Hartzler Dr., Belleville, passed away at 2:22 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2023, at his home.


He was born March 27, 1941, in Burnham, a son of the late Paul E. Kipp, Sr. and Marian E. (Righter) Kipp.

On Nov. 3, 1967, he married Martha B. “Marty” (Shirk) Kipp. She survives at their home.

He is also survived by: three daughters, Beth Ann Eisenman of Springfield, MO; Brooke E. Schlegel and husband, Jeffrey, of Mifflintown; and Becca J. Harlor and husband, Evan, of Port Matilda; seven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, four nephews, one niece, and a sister, Dorothy L. Bradley, of Burnham.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by: a brother, Paul E. “Joe” Kipp, Jr. and a brother-in-law, David E. Bradley.

John graduated in 1961 from Chief Logan High School.

Following High School, he joined the US Air Force. He served for four years at Andrews Air Force Base and was honorably discharged in 1965.

He was an electrician by trade, and was a very creative person who loved working with his hands. He and his Father built his home from the ground up.

Upon his return from the Air Force, he was first employed at Lewistown Electric, and retired from Marlette Homes after many years of service.

He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Mifflintown, and a former member of the Elks Lodge #663, Lewistown.

He enjoyed building furniture, cooking, and watching Penn State Football.

He was always very involved in his daughter’s activities while they were growing up.

His services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at Juniata Memorial Park.

Arrangements are under the care of Henderson Funeral Home, Belleville, PA.
