John K. Yoder, 74, of Belleville, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022, at his home.


He was born May 2, 1958, in Huntingdon County to Elmer Yoder and Catherine (Zook) Yoder who preceded him in death.

On June 19, 1971, he married Becky J. Yoder, who survives at their home.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Grace; an infant sister, Rachel; a brother, Peter Yoder; a sister-in-law, Annabelle Yoder; a brother-in-law, Carl Grace; and his father and mother-in-law, Bert Z. and Rose Robaska.

Also surviving is a daughter, Holly J. Yoder of Belleville; brothers and sisters, Willard J. Yoder and wife Lois, Roland Yoder, Marie Allison and husband Bob, Ruby Yoder and husband Leonard, Rhoda Campbell and husband Jim.

John graduated from Kishacoquillas High School. He was a self-employed, lifelong carpenter, a yard care enthusiast, a beloved husband and father, a lover of dogs, and a lover of sweets. He was always generous with his time and attention and was very loyal, honest and trustworthy. He served with 1W working with parapelegics in New York City during Vietnam.

He was a member of Maple Grove Mennonite Church in Belleville.

His viewing will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Maple Grove Mennonite Church. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2022, also at the church with Pastor Alan Kauffman officiating.

Burial will take place at Locust Grove Cemetery.
