Jonathan H. “Yonie” Sharp, 93, of Belleville, passed away at 5:55 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, at Embassy of Hearthside, State College.
Born Sept. 13, 1928, in Belleville, he was the son of the late Crist C. and Lydia (Yoder) Sharp. He married Florence M. (Esh) Sharp on June 17, 1950; she survives at their home.
He is survived by his children, Judy K. Link of Belleville, Harold E. Sharp and wife Vonnie of Belleville, Sharon S. Fleming and husband Gary of Allensville, Marlin W. Sharp and wife Ruth of Virginia; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grand-daughter. He is also survived by his sisters, Nancy A. Kinsinger of Belleville, and Fannie B. Fry of Lititz. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mattie Spicher and Elsie Yoder Gerber; and one brother, Jacob Sharp.
Yonie was a dairy farmer for a number of years, then went to work at KaVee Dairy. He started working at New Holland in 1951 and stayed there for 39 years, working in the foundry first, then in plant service.
He enjoyed hauling his Amish friends, doing word searches and watching TV. He was a member of Allensville Fire Co., Allensville Fire Police, and Stone Valley Bible Church in McAlevy’s Fort.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, at Henderson Funeral Home, Belleville with Pastor Dan Morris officiating.
Interment at Allensville Mennonite Cemetery following the service. His family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Friday.
