Josephine E. Wilson

Josephine E. Wilson, 97, of Belleville, PA passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at VA Commonwealth University Hospital in Richmond, VA.


She was born on May 18, 1926 in Jackson Township, Huntingdon County to Calvin and Clara (Lightner) Dickson. On Oct. 21, 1946, she married Clyde F. Wilson, who preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 2019.

She is survived by her son, Clyde S. (Stan) Wilson and wife, Linda, of Virginia, grandchild, Tara Greenbank and husband, Mark, of Delaware, five great-grandchildren Zara, Zayla, Dean, Jackson and Emmie, and a sister, Lois Corl, of Huntingdon.

Preceding her in death was her son, Gregory L. Wilson, on Dec. 15, 1980, one sister, Betty Brought, and three brothers, Donald Dickson, William Dickson and Herbert Dickson.

Josephine graduated from Stone Valley High School in 1945. She worked at Penn State as a laboratory technician until her retirement in 1980. She enjoyed cooking, tending to her flowers, quilting and making cloth dolls. She was a member of United Presbyterian Church in McAlevy’s Fort, a former member of the Shaver’s Creek and Belleville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliaries, and also assisted with fire company dinners at Shaver’s Creek.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the Stone Valley Bible Church with Pastor Dan Morris officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at the Greenlea Cemetery.
