Linda E. Peachey, 104, of 107 Sister’s Lane, Belleville, passed away at 6 a.m. Monday, July 4, 2022 at the home of Levi and Sara Ann Peachey in McVeytown.
She was born Aug. 8, 1917, in Belleville, a daughter of the late Joseph Y. and Fannie (Renno) Peachey.
She was the last of her immediate family and was preceded in death by an infant brother, a brother, Aaron J. Peachey, two sisters, Leah R. Peachey and Elsie M. Peachey, and two nephews, Jess Peachey and Lewis Peachey.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Mary Wert and husband Sherle of Belleville; Sara Ann Peachey and husband Levi of McVeytown; Arlene Peachey of Lewisburg; Rebecca Peachey of Belleville; Joe Y. Peachey of Belleville; Leroy Peachey and wife Sally of Lewistown; Dave Peachey of Michigan; and Lester Peachey and wife Shirley of Belleville.
Linda was primarily a homemaker and helped her parents on the farm with the outside work, milking cows and gardening.
She was member of Valley View Amish Mennonite Church. She enjoyed reading. She loved her cats and liked to make them oatmeal to eat. She also loved Nelly the dog.
Her funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Valley View Amish Mennonite Church with Earl Peachey and Loren Yoder officiating. Burial will be at Green Lane Cemetery following the service. Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Valley View Church.
