Mabel A. Stayrook

September 27, 1917 - December 4, 2020




Mabel A. Stayrook, 103 of Valley View Haven and formerly of Trella St. Belleville, PA has passed away due to complications from COVID on Friday, Dec. 4.


She was born on Sept. 28, 1917 in Belleville.

She is preceded in death by a brother Joseph Stayrook and four sisters, Bertha Yoder, Annie Stayrook, Elizabeth Peachey and Ruth Stayrook, as well as two nieces, Annabelle Yoder and Sharon Weaver.

Earlier in life, she was employed at Vogt’s Sewing Factory in Allensville. Mabel was also the oldest member at the Locust Grove Mennonite Church.

She enjoyed sewing and doing alterations, reading, oil painting, spending time with family and friends as well as traveling.

Her services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at Locust Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, memorials may be made to: Valley View Haven, 4702 East Main St., Belleville, PA 17004 or to Locust Grove Mennonite Church, 3358 West Main St., Belleville, PA 17004.

Her family wishes to extend a thank you to the staff at Valley View Haven for all the special care she received.
