Mahlon M. Shrock Jr. 85, of Valley View Terrace, Apt A126, Belleville, passed away on Aug. 23, 2023 at 3:38 a.m. at Valley View Haven.


He was born on Aug. 17, 1938 in Burton, Ohio, to the late Mahlon Shrock, Sr, and Sarah (Miller) Shrock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Marie (Miller) Shrock in Jan. 1996, a daughter Linda Ann Sunday who passed away on Aug. 1, 2021, a son-in-law Steve Sunday, brother Raymond Shrock, sister Alma Shrock Gingrich and husband Mervin, and sister Niva Kucha.

He is survived by his wife whom he married on June 19, 1999, Irene (Kauffman) Shrock. Also surviving are a son Melvin Shrock and wife Laurie (Aungst) of McVeytown, 6 grandchildren, Melissa Varner, Susan & husband Jerrod Fraine, Karen & husband Joshua Dunn, Sandy (Varner) and husband Jeff Metzgar, Jackie Shrock and significant other Mark Rhodes, Stephanie Shrock and significant other Nathan Serbent, 5 great-grandchildren, Alan, Hannah, Hunter, Haylee, Hayden, and Eliot Shrock, siblings, Marvin Shrock & wife Mae, Emma Detweiler and husband William, Esther Mast and husband Albert, sister-in-law Sarah Shrock, and brother-in-law Nick Kucha.

Mahlon was an independent coast to coast truck driver for a number of years. He owned and operated a log truck. He was a member of the Big Valley Brethren in Christ Church, where he served as an usher and a church board member. He enjoyed traveling with his wife. A funeral service will be held in his honor at the Big Valley Brethren in Christ Church, 81 Wagner Street, Belleville, on Friday, Sept. 1, 2023 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Steve Munger officiating. A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. The burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be a luncheon following the service.
