Martena Mae Sachs, 89, of Belleville, formerly of Mount Union, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 8:09 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Valley View Haven in Belleville.
Born Sept. 25, 1932, in Kistler, she was a daughter of the late Judson Mellott and Grace (Shinn) Mellott.
She is preceded in death by her first spouse Kenneth Lancaster and her second spouse Theron Sachs, who passed away Jan. 2018. One sister, Helen Vaughn also preceded her in death.
She is survived by children, Barbara Lancaster and husband Willie Marshall of Palm Dale, Calif., Kenneth Lancaster Jr. and wife Sandy of Duncannon, Jayme Hockenberry and husband Donald of McClure, and Crystal Morrison and husband Craig of Newton Hamilton. She is also survived by brothers and sisters, Jean Ernest and husband Richard of Mount Union, Jack and Dorothy Mellott of Mapleton, and Robert and Pat Mellott of Frackville; and several grandchildren.
Martena received her G.E.D. later in life, for which she was very proud. She was employed by Harbison Walker in Mount Union and Dallco Industries also in Mount Union.
Martena was a member of TOPPS for many years, and then KOPPS. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Haven Rest Memorial Park in Shirleysburg, with Pastor Ramon Morgan officiating. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to her good friend and caregiver, Ellen Wagner.
