Mary was a published author and wrote an annual Christmas poem, “The House of Dust” for over 22 years which was shared with friends and family both near and far. She also enjoyed attending Sunday school, entertaining friends, bowling, traveling, was an avid reader, sewing and crafts, and most of all, spending time with her family.

Smith, her great grandson-in-law, Matt Smith, her brothers, Frank O. Houser and his wife, Betty; and John H. Houser and his wife, Shirley; her sister, Evelyn Wilde, and her husband, Raymond A.; and a brother-in-law, Harry Taylor.
She is survived by: her three daughters, Joan E. Yoder and husband, Darvin, of Reedsville; Lila A. Schaaf and husband, Larry, of Lewistown; and Molly K. Hyatt, of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Christopher R. Yoder and wife, Amy, of Belleville, and Sara M. Smith of Burnham; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth M. Yoder, Hannah M. Smith, Christina L. Yoder, Tysen S. Smith, and Jasen Smith, a sister, Jane Taylor, of Reedsville, as well as 17 special nieces and nephews and their families.
