Nancy L. Swarey

March 4, 1936 - July 4, 2024

Nancy L. Swarey, 88 years, four months of 111 Swarey Lane, Allensville, passed away on Thursday, July 4, at her home at 3:15 p.m.

She was born on March 4, 1936, to the late Emanuel, Mattie (Yoder) Peachey. She married Stephen Swarey on Nov. 24, 1955, who preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 2006. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a brother.

Surviving are seven children: David Swarey, wife, Priscilla, Mattie Peachey, husband, Daniel, both of Belleville, Lydia Peachey, husband, Rufus, of Reedsville, Annie Yoder, husband Korie, Esther Swarey, husband Jonathan, Jacob Swarey, wife Annie, all of Allensville, John Swarey, wife Lena, of Belleville. 23 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, 66 step-great-grandchildren; siblings: Lydia M. Peachey, of Belleville, Jacob Peachey, of Belleville, Annie Detweiler, husband, Samuel, of Indiana.

She was a member of the Old Order Amish.

A viewing will be held on Friday afternoon and evening, with the funeral service to be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Korie L. Yoder residence, 113 Swarey Lane, Allensville, by the home ministers. Interment will be in the Allensville Mennonite Cemetery.
