Naomi S. (Spicher) Yoder, 80, of 207 Jericho Road, Belleville, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 1:26 p.m. at Valley View Haven, Belleville.
Born Oct. 24, 1942 in Belleville to Jesse D. and Annie (Yoder) Spicher. On June 4, 1961 she married Aquilla I. Yoder, who preceded her in death on March 2, 2022.
Surviving are five children, Kathy J. Kleiner and husband, Bill, of Burlington, N.C.; Mervin J. and wife, Phyllis (Yoder), of Mifflintown; Victor G., of Reedsville; Aquilla I. Jr (AJ) and wife, Denise, (Metzler) of Hershey; and Darren J. and wife, Deb (Metzler), of Belleville, grandchildren, Justin Kleiner and wife, Jenny, Deanna (Kleiner) Scotton and husband, Daniel, Benjamin Yoder and wife, Sara, Andrea Grimm and husband, Nick, Alissa Good and husband, Josh, Ryan Yoder, Abigail Yoder, Ashton Yoder, Danae Ford and husband, Jordan, Brayden Yoder and Madison Yoder; twelve great-grandchildren, Jadon, Ethan and Micah Scotton, Abel and Selah Yoder, Ember and Brooks Good, Cove Grimm, and Jaidyn, Jazlynn, Josiah, and Julian Ford; as well as her siblings, Anna Mae Yoder and husband, Noah, of Langeloth, PA, Susan Peachey and husband, Joseph, of Cuthbert, GA, Mary Etta Miller and husband, Daniel, of Canon City, CO, Abraham Spicher and wife, Marlene, of Middlebury, IN, Lois Kauffman and husband, Jesse, of Belleville, Ruth Kauffman and husband, Joseph, of Belleville.
Her grandchildren and great grandchildren affectionately called her Grammy.
Along with her husband, she was also preceded in death by brothers, John Paul Spicher, David Spicher, Jesse Lee Spicher, a sister, Rhoda Hostetler, and an infant daughter, Rachel, and an infant granddaughter, Danielle.
Naomi attended Belleville Mennonite School. She was primarily a homemaker and worked along side her husband on the farm. She was a member of the Allensville Mennonite Church and the Gideon’s Ladies’ Auxiliary. She volunteered at the Big Valley Thrift and Gift. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed doing word puzzles, crocheting, knitting and quilting. She was an avid walker, loved mowing the grass, and listening to Christian music. She had an iron will and a serving heart.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 4 p.m. at the Allensville Mennonite Church with A.J. Yoder, Justin Kleiner and Bob Zook officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until the time of service on Saturday at the church. A light meal will be served following the service. The burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
In her honor, the family is requesting you wear her favorite color, pink.
