Paul M. Couch

Paul M. Couch, 91, of Elmcroft of Reedsville, and formerly of McAlevy’s Fort, passed away at 5:32 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021 at Elmcroft.

Born Sept. 8, 1930 in McAlevy’s Fort, he was a son of the late John M. and Lucy Imogene (McCall) Couch. On Oct. 6, 1949, he was united in marriage to Eleanor G. (Cunningham) Couch. She passed away on May 14, 2010. He was later united in marriage to Lela Couch, who also preceded him in death.

Surviving are: his children, Diana M. Card of Dillsburg; Duane M. Couch and wife Renee of McAlevy’s Fort, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents and wives, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Yonker and a brother William M. Couch.

Paul was a state correctional officer at SCI Huntingdon for 35 years. He was a member of Stone Valley Bible Church and a former member of F&AM Lodge 700, State College, Tall Cedars of State College, and Jaffa Shrine of Altoona.

His service will be held at noon on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021 at Henderson Funeral Home, Belleville, with Pastor Dan Morris officiating. Burial will take place at Green Lee Cemetery, McAlevy’s Fort, following the service. His family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Friday.
