Ralph L. Hartzler

January 6, 1948 - September 8, 2024









Ralph Loren Hartzler, 76, of Belleville, PA, went home on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at his home.  


He was born on January 6, 1948 in Belleville to the late J. Elrose and Ruth (King) Hartzler.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Alphie J. Hartzler and nephew, Joel A. Hartzler.


Surviving are two sisters:  Ethel M. Hartzler of Belleville, PA and Rhoda K. Frey (Paul) of Steinbach, MB Canada.  Also surviving are 3 nephews, 4 nieces and 21 great-nieces and nephews.


Upon his high school graduation from Belleville Mennonite School, Ralph spent most of his working years in farming.  In his younger years, he enjoyed trips to help on MDS projects.  He enjoyed history, especially family histories, a good hunting story, and time spent with family.


In more recent years, Ralph served the local Amish community with his taxi work and running many errands for them.  He was a charter member of the Beth-EL Mennonite Church and served there in many different capacities.


Viewings will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at their home, 417 Schoolhouse Road, Belleville, and Friday, September 13, 2024 from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Allensville Mennonite Church, 1156 SR 655, Belleville. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 10 a.m. at the Allensville Mennonite Church with the Beth-EL Ministry officiating.  The burial will be held at the Allensville Mennonite Cemetery and will be private, at the convenience of the family.
