Robert L. ‘Todge’ Aumiller, Jr.

July 31, 1932 - December 6, 2020




Robert L. ‘Todge’ Aumiller, Jr., 88, of Ohesson Manor and formerly of Milroy, passed away at 3:28 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020 at Ohesson.


Born July 31, 1932 in Milroy, he was a son of the late Robert L. Aumiller, Sr. and Florence (Sunday) Crompton. On June 22, 1954, he married Janice (Paige) Aumiller. She preceded him in death on Sept. 30, 2016.

He is also preceded in death by his son, Michael R. Aumiller, who passed away on June 11, 2020. Surviving is: a daughter-in-law, Cindy A. Aumiller of Milroy; a grandson, Todge C. Aumiller & companion Adrienne Vernon of Atlanta, GA; a brother, Keith Crompton & wife Sue of Nebraska; and two sisters, Joy Schon & husband Ed of State College; and Billie Ann Kelly of State College; as well as a number of nieces & nephews.

Todge graduated from Milroy High School. After his graduation from high school, he served in the United States Air Force as a crew chief during the Korean War. He was one of the first jet mechanics in the Air Force. Following his discharge from the Air Force, he attended Shippensburg University, where he earned his teaching degree. After his graduation from Shippensburg, he then became employed with the state health department while his wife Jan completed her schooling. Upon their return to the Milroy area, he began teaching High School Biology at Kishacoquillas High School and he taught for a short time at Indian Valley High School as well. He began the football program at Kish High School and was their very first football coach.

He was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Milroy, and a member of the Mifflin County Historical Society. He was an avid antique collector and he operated a small business antique store in Reedsville for a number of years. He & his wife were very social people and loved meeting and getting to know everyone.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
