Sherman Robert Hackett, 59, of Telford, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, while visiting his family.
Born Sept. 8, 1962, in Harrisburg, he was a beloved son of the late Blain R. Hackett and Nancy (Patton) Hackett. His mother resides in Mechanicsburg.
Along with his mother, Sherman is also survived by: a brother, Joe Hackett and wife Ludmy of Flordia, a sister, Anne Kaiser and husband Danny of Elliottsburg, as well as nieces and nephews, Jessica and Christopher Hackett and Taylor and Cameron Simmons.
He was a graduate of Kutztown University where he majored in business and computer science. Sherman started his career as a consultant at Computer Aid, Inc. and he was currently employed as the manager of SAP Development at Amerigas.
He enjoyed family gatherings, helping where needed with his Dad’s projects, fixing computer glitches and a good game of golf. Sherman especially enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He also researched and grew corals for his large aquarium.
He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
His memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, at Henderson Funeral Home, Belleville, with Rev. R. Jeffrey Fisher officiating. His burial will take place at Greenlea Cemetery, McAlevy’s Fort, following the service. His family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
