Wanda A. Shade

May 9, 1944 - September 27, 2025

Wanda A. Shade, 81, of Myerstown, PA, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at her home.

She was born on May 9, 1944, in Belleville, to the late Paul and Frances (Wilson) Smoker.  On September 21, 1968, she married Ronald L. Shade, who survives at their home.

Also surviving are siblings: Sandra Metz and husband Robert “Buck” of Belleville, David H. Smoker and wife Joyce of McClure, Michael Smoker and wife Marla of Belleville, Douglas Smoker and wife Nancy of Belleville. She is also survived by a number of special nieces and nephews and great- nieces and great-nephews.

Wanda graduated from Kishacoquillas High School in 1962, and was employed at Dairyland for a little while.  She relocated to Harrisburg and worked at Harrisburg Credit Bureau, and then at State Capital Savings & Loan as a teller.  It then became Hill Financial, which later became Wells Fargo and she was promoted to management as branch coordinator and Assistant Vice President.  Following her retirement, she went to work at Hershey’s Chocolate World.

She was on the Board of Directors at Cornwall Manor.

She loved gardening, drinking coffee, doing word finder and crossword puzzles.  For her husband, she was the perfect life partner and will be deeply missed.

A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 6 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, West Main Street, Belleville with Pastor Mike Sigler officiating.  Family will receive friends from 5 – 6 p.m.
